So rankings dropped on April 20th on the old site stable ranking for years without doing anything.
Did anyone experience something similar on April 20th?

Not officially but who knows what they are cooking.

Its been quiet for some quite time, might be a Core update foreplay.

Got a couple of websites hit on 21th,
They were doing pretty well in terms of ranking/impressions/clicks,
Both have some decent link profile, solid/better overall UX signals compared to the rest of the competitors,

Something strange is occurring,
Both do rank for some keywords 5% of the time, in the top #3, totally out of SERPs for the rest,
I would give it some time, it got automatically resolved/reversed after a couple of weeks for several cases

Lately google acts very strange. Never seen this kind of behavior. They test things in real time. And they pushing up a lot big sites and vanish others, and I’m talking about adult tubes, where they didn’t do so much of those in past. And apart from that, a lot of random stuff happens. Its feels like they want to bluff us.

Yes, there was a drop around April 20th. Some sites seem to have lost their stable rankings. Google sometimes rolls out algorithm updates, which can affect rankings. Sites that haven't made changes for a while might be more impacted. It looks like others have experienced something similar. It's worth keeping an eye on whether there was any update.

My websites have been doing alright this month. That update messed with my stuff last month, but I'm getting back on track by sticking to my SEO strategy. Google can shake things up anytime, so keep your sites looking fresh and get some other backlinks and see if rankings recover.

Since November most of my sites have been in drawdown, even after the end of all the updates nothing has changed, but I know what I'm doing and just waited, carefully adjusting some of the positions.
After April 20, all my sites began to grow, most of them returned to previous positions, and those that hit the top in the period from November to April, on the contrary, disappeared.

Google does nothing, now it stabilizes what he has not had time to reach.
But you are right, in the near future more sites will fall, Google always does something ( well at least I am told so by my familiar experts from the search center:)).

Yes, many sites saw ranking drops around April 20th, likely due to an unconfirmed Google update affecting even long-stable websites.

I noticed something similar around April 20th too. Looks like Google might have rolled out a core update. It's always frustrating when rankings drop like that, especially when your site’s been stable for so long. Have you checked Google Search Console to see if there are any specific issues or maybe some new competitors affecting your rankings?

Yes, I also faced the same issue on April 20th. My website rankings dropped suddenly without making any changes. It is very confusing and frustrating. I hope we can find a solution.

Yes not alone quite a few site owners reported drops around April 20th It looks like it could be tied to another wave of Google s core update rollout or ongoing site quality adjustments. Even stable sites that haven’t changed much in years seem to be affected, especially if they’ve been relying on older content or haven’t refreshed things in a while. A site audit and content quality review might help figure out what triggered the drop
