Rankings drop after link indexed by Google

Hello,

I come here to ask some advise regarding the situation that happened on my site.

I have a fairly new site (built on expired domain) that was giving good result and overall rankings were really improving good. Some KWs were already ranking in TOP 10 in fairly competitive KWs.

I ordered some links from an agency that works with portfolio of websitesand they delivered me a link that clearly came from a generalist PBN.

Google indexed the link and the day after, most of the rankings related to that page dropped. It is now 5 days and I don't see improvements.

It could totally be a Google dance, but some KWs from that page dropped massively.

What would you do? Would you wait and hope it is just dance or would you take some proactive actions like disavowing etc?

Hi,

Then you can build some quality backlinks regarding your niche and leverage your content through social networks.

And if those links are broken within these few days just remove them and start to build new links

Pbn links normally take effect from 2 - 4 weeks.

Google produces its ranks based on the information it crawls on the web. If there isn't enough information on your site for Google to crawl, the result will be a lower rank. you should build quality content and backlink.

Better check the quality of the backlinks.. Also it might take few days to reflect in SERP... But even after all these checks and the results are down.. Then it is better to approach the agency that sold you the links.. Also from the next time.. Try focusing on quality..

I don't think the dropping of result in such a short period(5 days) is due to Backlink generated. Think what have you done apart from Backlinks.
Have you done anything on On-Page to fix any issue or Any issues happened to hosting.

Since you've had this plunge within a shorter timeframe, it might climb back soon. Either way, more room for links.

Aside of that, no i did not touched anything on-page. So anyway, I will continue business as usual, and just add slowly high authority links!

As frightening and stressful as it may be, when your Google rankings drop dramatically, it doesn’t mean you should give up hope. Oftentimes the problem can be fixed and your rankings can get restored. You just have to know what to look for.

It may indeed be an in but you will be fixed rather quickly as it should not last long (a few days). Also take into account that Google is working on its indexing and that this may create unforeseen things for a while which does not really suit you.

It's not uncommon for rankings to bounce up and down after you build some links.

You mentioned that your site is new, but didn’t mention your existing link profile. How many links did you have before adding the new link in question?

How is the quality site that they placed the link on? Is your page content good? I assume it’s a link farm, but is the niche relevant? How’s the profile for that site?

Normal pbn links effect, algorithm update, technical issues, improvements competitors made, SERP lay out changes or a Google penalty.

Add the backlinks consistently from the relevant authority sites and update the content regularly, wait a few days and it is more likely to recover.

Could be a Google dance. However, Google is fixing their indexing issues these days, so you can not really identify which is which. Give it a few more weeks and see.

This could be google dance, give it some more time before you disavow those links. Keep posting content regularly and also check with other changes you made.
