Ok,

I'm currently looking at a report on Market Samurai showing the top 10 site for a keyword.

How does a site with less backlinks than most of the top 10 & 0 PR rank for the top spot? I don't get it. Is there hidden backlinks or what?

Authorship, Authority and most importantly luck matters. Sometimes. such sites get ranked due to luck .

I see no reason whatsoever for this page to rank no.1 for a highly competitive search term. http://computerservices.co.uk/. The term being computer services. Does anyone know why please?

This is purely for educational purposes, as I have no intention of trying to rank for this.

They dont have good content, so thats the only thing it could be. LINKS.

Clearly they do, that's why I'm trying to find out why they are ranking, as you say the site content is rubbish, they don;t have many backlinks at all. They are outranking university domains which usually dominate.

For anyone reading this thread, after deeper research I found a web of crap websites all built on aged domains. Interesting.

Just someone buying aged domains to build web 2.0 sites on it, very effective. You control every link juice passed to your site. But it's hard labor when you need a different host or ip every domain.

Aged domains work wonders in SEO man. Trust me. I have a few of those myself.

Effective though, is there any way to find out how long a domain has held its rank? Im interested in finding out how long they can keep it at no.1 with this method.

If you aren't dumb you'll be getting your traffic for as long as you want.
