Hey BHW-ers, pray that you guys are flourishing with your respective undertakings.

I am wondering, what makes a site rank different in google and say, google uk or google au, etc?

If, let's say, I want my site to rank better primarily in google uk, what kind of approaches would best help me achieving that?

How about carrying out my SEO employing majority UK IPs? Such as submitting articles, Social Bookmarking, etc by employing more UK IPs in the mix.

Any opinion will help. Thanks.

Edit: I'm sorry about the incomplete title because I accidentally pressed the ENTER key.

I took a seminar last year about this topic. The key points to ranking in the UK (for example) would be to

- make sure you have a .co.uk domain name as well as the same .com
- have your hosting over in the UK
- have your pages in the same language (not a great point for the UK, but still)
- make sure your keyword research is from that area. phrases are different in different regions
- links need to be local to that country
- add a geo selector tag in your header

Lacy, thanks alot for your share. Have a great day.

You have to build links to uk websites and au websites to rank higher on google, in those certain countries.
