Ranking Without Backlinks

Few weeks ago I stumbled upon two guys on Youtube they are running website called "Income School" --I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH THEM BY ANY MEANS-- , the videos those guys make basically around single topic which is to focus ONLY on Content.

And the traffic will come in by time, the question is, is it really true that If I only invested in high-quality, informative and compelling content, will this rank make me money through my website without even building single backlink?
And if so, why many gurus on the contrary tells you to invest more in building backlinks as if your ranked without backlinks you didn't rank a sh*t, Am wondering.

With youtube, that is probably enough. If you make videos that people watch youtube will rank you higher for your targeted terms. Now from google, thats a totally different ballgame.

You are right, partially as those guys crazy they reveal which niches they tap into, and I already checked one of them the literally rank for those positions consecutively 1 ,2 3(In the worst cases), with literally no backlinks.

They are not driving traffic to those niche websites using youtube, they take their time in crafting content by hand for each niche site they launch

According to semrush total monthly visits exceeded 50k in one niche site with only ~30 post

They seem to have gained a lot of popularity lately.

They say some good stuff and I watch them a bit now and then. But their overly positive attitude combined with the "quality content will get you links and number 1 spot"-talks makes me skeptical.

Dont listen too deeply into what they say, is my suggestion.
 
I actually do this for all my sites, if you can create content on a certain topic and structure them in a silo, you can outrank even high DA websites without building a single backlink.

That is what we call @mentions. Actually with good content and a strong social media presence in any social media site can bring you a lot of mentions and today mentions works better than backlinks. Why we do backlinking? As simple as that, almost 75% content available on the web is the copywriting or if I can say rewriting of the "original" content and to rank such content we need backlinks as we can't get mentions or shoutout for such content.
 
It is possible to rank any type of content without backlinks. I believe they are overpriced. When I wrote posts for my blog, I only focused on keywords and quality, and almost all of my articles are well ranked without backlinks. So all should know, content is a king, not backlinks. Still, they can help and have a purpose, but the best tactic is to focus on creating quality content, and the success is guaranteed.

I'd second the recommendation to use mentions, especially anywhere you are prohibited from having live backlinks, or where all such links are nofollow, BUT the page you want to leave a comment on has super traffic and reach. There are at least 5 ways to mention a site as a brand or unhyperlinked, examples--

1) yoursite.com (mention the site as text)

2) on the yoursite site (mention it without TLD, as a brand)

3) "but you can google": Bombshell Intel on Former Official (sample specifc headline)

4) article on yoursite titled "Something About Some Subject" (mention brand and headline)

5) brokenup com (mention site without the period before the TLD)
 
They seem big on site structure and pick their terms strategically.

The mindset of content will attract natural links in time is flawed.

Let's say you are only working on Content + Site Structure + Onpage.

And your competitors are doing the exact same thing + Outreachs + bunch of PBN links. Who do you think that would rank and attract more natural links overtime?

Funny that Income School is telling you not to build links, I did some digging and one of their Amazon affiliate project (I think I shouldn't reveal the URL here) has been building ton of suspicious looking homepage PBN links.

Soooo I don't know, should gurus practice what they preach? Your call :D
 
Not sure who are the guys you are talking about. However I do make these type of sites. The thing is, you need a domain which is very powerful. An expired domain or auctioned domain is perfect fit for it. The idea is to keep adding content without any backlinks. Overtime, you will start getting traffic from many longtail keywords and even some keywords you didn't even know. It works but takes time.
 
Yes, you can rank without building or working on backlinks.

Yeah I saw this on one of their sites, when I checked on semrush I found they own domain redirecting each post to post like it on their money site, and the redirections comes from High metrics website
 
on page and off page both are equally important, i bought an old domain with backlinks and it was already there indexed, now m looking at putting in high quality content. lets see.
 
Those two are misleading their viewers.Those keywords don't have any searches per month that is how they rank on the first page on Google with no backlinks don't believe everything you hear and see on Youtube.
 
I watched their video, have to say some good stuff there. And regard this question, you can rank some easy terms without backlinks, but don't expect too much traffic of your site, as no one will post 100,000 articles in 5 years and dont expect 1 penny from it in 5 years time frame...

Because normal person need some profit as soon as possible, think ROI. You are not the big media.
