I've not really experimented too much with this, and would like to hear some insights from you.

I've read that having static content on the homepage is much better for converting your customers (affiliate / CPA); while having dynamic content is better for rankings because of constant freshness. What I'm more interested is rankings at this point.

Having both on your page - example: static information or actions you want your reader to take, while including "recent" posts at the bottom or in widgets - might be better.

Let me know your thoughts and ideas on how ranking has been effected by having a static or dynamic homepage.

Cheers :drinking2

It depends on your needs. What type of site are you creating?

I'm looking to open a few micro-niche blog sites with pretty competitive keywords. Looking to venture into adsense rather than affiliate marketing this time.

Op I guess Dynamic homepage will be better in your case.

I have better experience with static homepage (aka long article targeting keyword vs. new blog posts) but it really depends I guess.

Static is the way to go. For dynamic it will be bit difficult to rank home page.
