I think, Yes - Thats a good strategy to rank Blog page to attract Traffic on your website for relevant keywords - The best part is that you can write 5000+ words blog covering all aspects of that niche / service like, what, why, where, how and so on.

Ranking a Blog Page is comparatively easier.
