I've site which is 1 year old. It's just simply sitting for the whole year.

Things done:-
Posted good well-researched articles around 10 (All articles are well-structured with 1k+ words each)
Links built (Only citations around 20) nothing else
Built Social Media profiles and shared articles over there.

Right now, it's hanging around 8th page for the main keyword. Ahref shows it ranks for around 300 keywords from page 5-6+

So basically it's an aged inactive site. Any strategy to rank it now?

Yes.
- Added images with all Alt tag, descriptions, etc
- Embed videos on some articles
- Maintaining lower keyword density (under 1%)
- Used synonyms of main keywords
- Titles are good without any keyword stuffing
- Interlinked articles
- Homepage has an article of around 5k words which contains a short description of products with a link to the review post.
- Used Thrive to create table to compare products.

I'd say, it's pretty good.

Thats my concern. Since the site is inactive for a long time. Suddenly shooting some pbn links out of the blue, ain't it suspicious or should i warm up the site abit before sending in the links?
 
Add more content, wait 1-2 weeks and start building links. That is what I do with old inactive sites.

Start Link Building Like: Web 2.0, Social Bookmarks, Authority Profiles, Guest Posts + Tier 2 And Tier 3
 
If you are already ranking page 5-6, I would start with some web2.0's slowly.
Keep the pbns for the final push, in case you get stuck on page 2-3.
 
Here are the tips for you -

1. First and basic is choose the catchy domain with top ranking keyword.
2. Perform the SEO
3. Add the keywords - You should use the keywords on your website.
4. Add the customer reviews on site.
5. Use the digital marketing
6. Perform back-linking
7. Perform guest posting
8. Perform the link building
9. Unique and quality content - Your website should have the unique contents with the quality information in it.
10. Representation and Language - You should use the graphical representation for website and it should be very impressive so visitors will get easily attract towards it.

Here are some of the Off page SEO techniques which I am using -

1. Social media marketing
2. Social bookmarking
3. Forum and blog submission
4. Article submisison
5. Image and video submission
 
Do not go for PBN's now. Create more content and build web2.0's. You can start commenting on websites.
 
10 articles is still pretty small site. So I would add a bit more articles and build links.
 
How are web 2.0 and PBN links any different in terms of links suddenly pointing to the site? I don't think web 2.0s are any safer and just a waste of time. Go with PBN. Warm it up with a little social activity and a couple of new articles and then slowly add PBNs.

Then start with the diversity links that are considered safe -- web 2.0s, social profiles -- slowly...

Then do blog commenting on yourself, DO NOT outsource them. Leave insightful and related to the post comments and I'm 95% sure it will be approved, provided that the blog is active as well. Do at least 5 per week. They don't give approve right away anyhow.

Probably throw some media rich backlinks?

Actually, just anything you can get hold off and that they are safe and trusted and not spammy sites.

Even with community sites post articles and link to this site, even if it's N0foll0w.

Lastly, start with guest post manual outreach. You can never go wrong with this. Besides, you need to warm up, yeah? Guest post also takes time, so it is a good velocity to match the warm up.

Only start PBN once you've got some trusted links rolling in and being indexed. Again, if you do PBNs later, do it slowly.

And yes, I agree. Warm the site up first. However, I would go really really slow. I would start with web 2.0s, some manual blog comments, maybe forum posts. If you write them well, they will stick. I would not build more than 3 - 5 links a week. The slower you take it, the more effective the links will be. After a couple months, start doing outreach, add more content and add PBN links if you feel like it.

Also, have you seen how awesome the rank improvements on the site were, even though you haven't done anything? Age of content does miracles.

I use social signals while adding more content, then use a diversity seo run for a month to let the sites bed down, still drip feeding more content.
Then I use monthly PBN links to add powerful juice.
 
Start with creating new content or update your old content. Work on your inner pages and slowly build backlinks.
 
hi mate,

expired web 2.0 are better than newly created web 2.0.
guest posting is a must now adays.
it is better to use PBN once backlinks are started again, but i am not sure of the effect if you started it right away.

...and yes, before doing off page, check your on page first and see to it that it is ok.

You need to focus on your on-page seo techniques and you had low back link profile keep building links,do some Kw research and competitor analysis before buying links focus on creating a relevant content for your niche,keep on tracking.
 
I usually add and subtract content from the already published articles and start dripfeeding social signals(smm panel or FB ads will do).

Once you update the content, start marketing it. Ask for guest posts, dripfeed social signals, bookmarking, blogcomments, reddit posts, and Quora.

In a month your ranking will improve most probably. Use some pbns for direction :)
