I have to rank a site in two google country prefixes has anybody got any experience on ranking the same site in 2 different google countries. I have done it before by making a new site with the country specific domain and hosting inside the country. The only problem i faced was getting all new content for the second site. There has to be a better way to do this.. if anybody has any tips i will be very grateful

Won't the site rank naturally if the keyword / service / product is relevant to that country?? Efforts that we put on SEO usually rank the site across multiple Google indexes (.com, .co.uk, .com.au etc), albeit the rankings will be different. Getting links from the respective region should help enhance rankings on the particular database of Google.
Did I understand your question entirely wrong and give you a totally nonsense answer? ;)

If your site ranks highly in US Google, there is a good chance that it will rank good in most other countries too but if you got a domain that has a uk or an au on the end of it, then you will have a better chance at ranking for the particular country of the TLD that you registered and would find it harder to rank well outside of that country.

Users actually get a local search result - one will get results related to one's region. However, if you have a TLD of .com, .org or .net or any domain that is not that country specific, there is a better chance of ranking to territories (.au for Australia and .uk for United Kingdom).

Sorry for the late reply... my problem is say the site is a sofa shop and i already have it ranked in google.co.uk i dont want to have to make a whole new site and rewrite the content. Is there a way around this.
