I've got a new website that I want to rank "city[keyword].net" in order to rent out advertising spaces to local businesses. I want to get it higher in the SERP but it's a brand new site. It's an easy keyword to rank with little competition other than some local business websites with a no SEO.

I was thinking about waiting a week or so and buying 10-20 high PR backlinks from Fiverr. All on-site SEO has been done and I'm only looking to rank one keyword.

What do you recommend in order to quickly get me ranked onto page 1 without getting sandboxed?

Good Question. If I were in your shoes I would do some high quality backlinks such as press releases or even articles. Nothing that even looks close to spammy!!

I'd get blog comments and forum profiles from porn sites. The more the better.

First of all, make sure the domain is registered for more than a year.
Best links for local sites/keywords, are from local websites within your city/state.
With a new domain, slow, quality, steady and constant links are important.

Start a link building campaign or get someone to do a Xrumer blast for you.

Why would you wait until the domain has been registered for a year?

No, you misunderstood. When you register the domain, do it for 2 years, 5 years etc.

Ah, now it makes sense even though I only register my domains for a year.

You want to send some high authority links in there, I'm doing exactly the same thing now but for very competitive keywords (still local) I have a feeling though that ranking it is going to be easier than renting it out, ranked 11 after 1 week so not far left now. Go to get aboove google maps though!

Hell I have ranked things like this with just one page targeting a keyword. Linkpushing works well and I have not had any ill effects on a new site. Even one I just threw 200 pushes at in the first 30 days of existence.

Get yourself a mailbox (one of those private places, not the PO) as near to the core zip code as possible. If you don't have one, get a google voice number. And use this to set up all the local search citations!

I just ranked a pretty competitive local keyword think "medical profession, City" in exactly 2 weeks. Started by basic on page SEO and then I did about 3 articles of 600 words or so, one blog post with 5 images and about 200 words and 2 videos with about 100 words as a description. Then I did a fiverr social bookmark, a fiverr linkvana article post the guy gave me 1 extra when I told him I was from BHW, then I used Insurgo's PR blog posts who gives you about double (30 instead of 15) if you tell him you are from BHW.
Finally I did 2 services of my own that I do on fiverr. Result, I have 2 pages on the 1st page for a kw that Traffic Travis claims is "Difficult".

What are you going to do with the site?

If you want this to be a long term moneymaker, you better not do anything even remotely black hat with it. You nay get away with it, but in the future Google will change the algo and snatch it away just as they always do. If you game the system to improve your rankings, you may lose everything you have worked for.

This is going to go counter to a lot of the advice you will get, but I would not fiverr, xrumer, scrapebox, or do any automation at all, and no bulk backlinking.
These forums are full of people who did what seemed harmless, only to lose everything just as it was taking off, sometimes after years of work.

Don't take any chances with a golden goose.

If as I suspect, the results in the SERPs are not fully optimized for the keyword, and they are all Google has to offer, then simply fully optimizing your site for the keyword may give you the number one spot. Things are different when you are doing local, you have almost no web savvy competitors and ranking is usually fairly easy if your keyword selection is properly done.

I also suspect the keyword was chosen for brand building instead of traffic generation, since it has no competition. Or did you find a real GEM?

I would do this. Build the site and fully optimize it for your keyword and a few LSI's. Promote this website by adding it to Linkedin, facebook, and a press release, set up Google webmaster tools and submit a google sitemap. Do the normal things a starting business would do.

Next, I would find a reputable press release site, and pay them for a full distribution. (The site I use charges $129). This will create a steadily increasing flow of backlinks as the press release is picked up by news organizations and propagated around the world. The rate of link acquisition will start slow, build up, peak and fall off as time goes on, but a the links pass serious juice and really stick.

Nest, to gain authority I would find a piece of software that you have give away rights to, even if it is a WordPress plugin. Rebrand it as yours, and build a PAD submission, and submit the software to the every download sites you can find as a free tool for your customers.

(I use a program called Pad Submit Worker to do this with).

It works even better (the links pass more juice) if the software is related to your keyword, (I used a PLR car loan calculator for a local auto dealer),but these links are very powerful and pass a lot of juice even unrelated.

The download directories have incredible authority because they have been around for years and most have high PR. I can now post software to CNET, a very high authority domain.

The company name in the software submission will be the link to your site, and if you are crafty you can work your keyword into the company name your software is submitted under and have the keyword anchor text you want. You do not have to use your real company name.

If you take the three most well known places that approve your software and put them on a card to pass out to you customers, you gain a lot of credibility in their eyes. To them you have to really be a great company if you develop and give away free software to the public. If they have to go to a site like CNET to download it, you look even better.

I would venture to say in three months time, you would be invincible in the local market, do a new pad submission every 3 months for a year and you are 10 foot tall and bullet proof.

Let your site grow other backlinks naturally, don't even concern your self with messing with it.

I've created a few articles on the site and am slowly adding consistent quality content for my targeted keyword. I think I'm going to get 200 social bookmarks from Fiverr and see where it takes me. In the mean time I'm also going to be submitting the site to some high-authority sites locally that can hopefully boost my ranking. Thanks a lot!

Get some Blog posts. You can find it in the Buy sell section. That should be enough for a New site. ! If you want, send in around 500-1000 Social bookmarkings with some good anchor diversity.

Should take you to to Top 5 if it's not a difficult keyword.
