Ranking Keyword Higher?

So I have around 60 posts so far on the website, some still need to get indexed.

i have around 10 or so keywords on Page 1 BUT not in the first position.
( I don't really have the money to do link building currently but I'm guessing that's what I need to do)

Keyword competition is low.

What would you guys suggest to move up?

Also, if you Keyword gets a "featured snippet" does that mean it's number 1 position? ( two Keywords have this)

Also this is my first journey and I'm really stoked to see keywords in the first page haha

I just checked again and in total most my keywords are at page 1 to page 3.

They getting indexed within a day and show up there.

My content is better than some sites before me.

I have better DA and backlinks, not to mention content over 600 words. While they have 300 words.

It's not the content issue.

I'm not disputing you yet, but I'm curious to know how you concluded that the competition is low. Can you share the logic?

it could be one, or all of these things:

- new, fresh website (site age is becoming more and more important nowadays, so you need to wait more)

- internal linking (point some internal links with exact match anchors - just not many of them, only a couple or so - from relevant pages that are indexed to the pages that are not yet indexed, or which don't rank yet. The point is to either index and rank orphaned pages, or boost the ones that don't rank high enough, that's why you want to point the internal links to these pages, but make sure that both the source and destination page of the link are relevant to each other)

- technical SEO (site structure, good crawlability and indexability, no 404 / broken links, mobile friendliness, etc... google takes stuff like this seriously)

- low domain authority / strength (DA / DR) and / or low topical authority (too many articles that are either unrelated, or only slight related to each other... also, too few niche-related backlinks... if any of these apply you need to fix them)

- no / low quality on-page SEO. Check your content and on-page SEO of the page you want to rank against the pages of your competitors, using tools like Frase, Surfer, Neuron Writer, or RankMath and see where you can improve (usually by removing, or adding more SEO entities in, but also by fixing minor things like keyword density, adding ALT tags to images, etc)

I don't think there's a right or wrong answer here. As long as your snippets show up and you get traffic that's all that matters

your site is probably very fresh (less than 1 month old), many fresh sites get some initial rankings and after a few weeks they either vanish from the SERPs, or linger somewhere around pages 5-6 until you build them up more (publish more content, build links, promote your site, etc)

I don't think there's a right or wrong answer here. As long as your snippets show up and you get traffic that's all that matters

Thanks for the replies, here's what I'll say in response


1. I checked the serps and KD tool. They rank from page 1 to page 3 for most keywords. Either way I'm targeting lower competition keywords for now.

2. The domain is an expired one not the amazing metrics but it was quite nice. Clean as well.

3. I'm doing everything right from the start in terms off on page seo. Interlinking, structure, etc. On page is not a problem at all.

4. I just need to work on off page and unfortunately that requires some money. Either way I'm set on page for now.

Not too sure how it works, guess Google decides. I don't do anything special but around 3 keywords now show up in snippets

not necessarily...

If you do your keyword research well you can rank without backlinks (although this will not keep you up top forever as your competitors will outrank you sooner or later).

And if you do need some backlinks to start, there are always great backlinking opportunities shared here for free. Just have a look around and you'll find them
