Hi All,

I have 3 yrs old website which is ranked between 3-6 pages for 60% of the keywords. For some keywords it is slowly moving to 2nd page or 1st page after a week it is going back to 4-5th page. What do I need to do to stay in 1st page or moving to top position? Will this be backlink or onpage issue?

Thanks

Google is doing a lot lately. So, its not only you. The SERP's after the 7th Feb update are fluctuating very frequently. My opinion is give it some time.

Thanks but this is happening to me for more than 6-10 months.

High quality content is always important. If it is a long run game, then work on onpage optimization (i.e. content, build it for visitors not Google) and your backlinks.

Your competition might do both as we speak...

I think you must concentrate ON page methods because you said there was dancing in more than 5 months.
Might be you get bad links so disavow those links.
And other thing you must build a quality backlinks to your site.
On page is more important than Off page methods.
So, try to concentrate on both the methods. You could see some good results.

It's almost always a combination of on-page + off-page SEO, meaning if your website/content is rubbish, then just building backlinks won't be so effective....Similarly, you could have perfect on-page SEO, but with no links you could be waiting forever to get ranked.

Update your website regularly with the high-quality contents.
Check your competitors. May they build links more than you. So, you can keep building more links from the good quality sites.
Also, you can focus on your on-page too. That's also an important factor to set the things right.

Depends if you've changed anything if so then onpage if not then...

Do a bad neighbourhood check (supa growth) has a good free tool for this

Check your links

Crawl it as Goode and see what it looks like

Check backlink quality

If all ok then get more links! :-)
