Hi,
Need some advice and help to rank my website high in Google. What would be the best way to approach?

You create backlinks by finding/selecting related sites that allow you to add content, that includes a link back to your site. A forum or blog comment, or a guest post/article would be examples. If you have a sufficient number of 'quality links' (from pages that have 'clout' or authority) it should increase your own site's authority and ranking in the search engines.
 
You need to build/buy quality backlinks to your website. Also you need to add quality content to your website preferably every day.

Be more focused towards your audience,, 2018 is all about enhancing users experience be with the original and unique content or enchaning your website's experience by optimizing it at various levels. Good quality backlinks from authoritative sites definitely helps in building trust.
 
Not only Great quality backlinks work today, if you want to stay your site there for long time then you will have to add and upate the site content constantly , at least once in a week, according to new google update and algorithm after August 1
 
Don't overthink things. Since you're going with SEO you should probably focus on lots of great content at first, because it takes months to rank. With time you'll learn about link building etc. Some will say that you've got to do it the other way around, but well, you can never go too wrong with quality, SEO optimized content.
