I've noticed that in some terms I'm ranking there's a LOT of Google Places slots in the first page.

How does one aim at ranking into these Google Places slots? Are there strategies I can use to try to get into there?

Do you have a legitimate office address or business address for each website/set of keywords or have access to a friend/family's address that you can share?

If you do, setup a google places listing and optimise it and you'll rank for those keywords + places listing

Yeah, there's a physical location I can use.

How do you "optimise" for Google Places though... is there anything in particular I can/should do?

Yes you do need to optimise for GP, but I don't have enough time to go over it here as it could take hours :)

The offline section on BHW is full of information, check out the following threads and pick up one of the GP pdf's that are shared on here:

Ranking of google places means, there are several things that you can do to improve the position of your website in Google Places. Do the following to make sure that Google picks your Google Places listings for the search results.
