Ranking in blogging without a domain?

So would you say i can still get ranked on the first page without a domain just the standard "instert".blogspot.com domain? I have ideas for multiple blogs but dont feel like buying domains for each of them. Thoughts?

i have seen some blogs with blogspot.com domain ranking real well for there respected keywords and niche.getting to page 1 with blogspot.com domain is a serious business :D if you want to go pro use a dot com
 
I've got a few .blogspots ranking on page one. Competition is very low though for my keywords. Which is probably why.
 
Its better when you see good rankings on blogspot domain then you will get an intention about having your own domain and make more money.
 
Type in 'printable coupons' in google and check the first result, that guy is ranking for all kind of coupon related keywords. You can see from the traffic counter and alexa ranking that he gets millions of visitors a month.
This guy must be making thousands, if not tens of thousands a month through adsense.

So, in short the answer is yes!
 
exact search 301.000 / month + ranks for hundreds of other high searched coupon terms... as I said probably makes tens of thousands a month through adsense.
 
A lot of these replys here are complete and utter crap. I was ranking top 10 for a blogspot domain getting 1.5K uniques daily, i then changed to a .com and I've now dropped out of the top 1,000 and getting around 300 daily.. I've allowed it time to stable out too.

If you don't have a huge budget for building blogs you might want to just start out with a subdomain of a blog host. Then, later you could always upgrade that blog but of course then don't forget to back up your files and content just in case.
 
A few of my posts from my blogspot accn't show up on the first page of google search. With enough traffic, it'll reach there!
