Hi,
Our products usually have different sizes (ie. 750ml, 1L, 3L, etc.) and we currently have a product page for each size. We are considering consolidating them into a single product page with different size variants so that they are not competing and we can focus building on one page for the main keyword.
An example would be to just have the product page "Jack Daniels" instead of the three different pages "Jack Daniels 700ml", "Jack Daniels 350ml" and "Jack Daniels 1L".
However, I can't get my head around the following two issues.
1. Locally we are currently ranking number 1 "Jack Daniels 1L" with the Jack Daniels 1L single product page. Will we still be able to rank high for "Jack Daniels 1L"? We do have the google product feed listed with merchant center which shows the variations although I don't know if Google Search takes that into account. On the rich snippets the sizes are not visible by default using rankmath seo.
2. We also have a brand page titled "Jack Daniels" which showcases the range of the company's products like JD Honey, JD Fire, gentleman jack, Single barrel, JD Cola, etc. While the content on this page will be different from the product page, it will still be competing with the product page for "Jack Daniels", which is locally still a low competition keyword.
What's the best way to go about this? Is consolidating still a good idea?
