Ranking For Own Keywords?

Hello, guys! Has anybody heard and used the technique of ranking for own keywords? sounds a bit abnormal

but here it is meant ranking not for the most competitive and widely targeted keywords but for those you can think of by yourself after good brainstorming? some seo specialists say that this approach should be used as short-term ranking strategy while highly competitive keywords will take time to be ranked..

Think of it this way: Is the method cost effective? You can try ranking for many long tail keywords with few searches but you need to rank for alot more pages.

I think you are talking about longtail keywords. And it's a very common "seo strategy" trying to rank for them.
Obviously you can rank your site faster for longtail keywords as there is usually less competition.

Ranking procedure is pretty much the same as for every other keyword.

In Google try to use long-tail keywords because users try it maximum.

Ranking is also a part of SEO process.So, you can do it by yourself.

But it may take some time for ranking.

Thanks for your replies, guys! I think ranking for both long tail and competitive keywords is a good strategy.. and in both cases it takes time and effort

You can use long tail and low comp keywords to rank faster .Patience is also a best part in SEO. As you have to wait for few more days to get ranking.

Creating a blog with lots of keywords targeted is your best bet. Each blog post can target another set of long tail keywords, he's right. Longtail keywords are easier to rank for and you can make it happen much faster. Plus the traffic is much more reliable.

You can choose Low competition and Long tail keyword. You can rank your site faster for Long tail keywords.
