Ranking for Keyword + "for sale"

In your experience what is the best approach to rank for keyword + "for sale". I'm trying to rank a site in a niche that has very few sites trying to sell the item. None of the giant online retailers appear anywhere in the serps and will not be competition. Search volume is low but profit potential is large. The keyword alone gets about 2k searches per month and keyword + "for sale" gets a little over 800.

Ranking for keyword + "for sale" is my priority. However, I'm not sure if it's better to optimize for the keyword + "for sale" phrase or just optimize the page for the keyword and let google determine I'm selling items based on the content on the page ($ signs, description, etc).

Anyone have any experiences they would like to share?

Hmm, interesting question.
Maybe use a mixture of buying combinations in your anchors- would it not be natural for some sites to link to you like "it's hard to find but this site has the keyword for sale..."

i think ink keep it as natural and varied as possible.

What would be even better, is if you were to rank for the keyword, "here".

Of course I just checked it and Adobe has it. Knew it would be some major powerhouse company.
