Hi there, I need to rank a google.com.au website instead of google.com. Are there any tricks specifically to rank better with .com.au because I've noticed the rankings that always do the best are .com even if I'm targeting a different Google.
Thanks

Host your website with Australia hosting company. and get links from domains .com.au

First get .com.au domain extension, try to get links also on Australian sites

Set the target country in Google search console to Australia (which is automatic if your domain is .com.au).
Get a hosting with Australia IP address, and get as many links from Australia as you can.

Get links from au domains,au ip addresses, google webmaster tools set to au, also get local citiations from au domains.

same (unkown) strategy as before only mix in more .com.au or australia related sites.

To elaborate on what has been mentioned above:

Host your website on an Australian server with an Australian IP.
Make sure your domain is a .com.au
Submit website to Australian directories that end in .com.au
Get niche relevant backlinks from .com.au domains
Obtain a press release from Australian news websites.

Look for Local Australian Business Directories and list your site on them. That would do the job.

In webmaster tools set targeted country to au. and if possible, host your site using au ip.

You can’t simply rely on all these like Domain extension, hosting, local citation.etc for a local SEO, try other advertising such as PPC, offline advertisement which directly influence your site to be appeared in the Google search results.
