Ranking For a KeyWord

    Other than name/description/tags what else can I do to rank for a keyword on youtube. Im around 6th (was 2nd a few days ago). Videos have millions of views...

    Other than Title, Tags and Description, you can focus on increasing your views, comment, ratings, subscribers. As far as I know these are factors which influence the video ranking in SERPs. Also get some inbound links to your videos.

    I tried that on a giveaway before. I had 60k subs, 5k favs 5k, 4k comments likes and didn't effect at all :(. Its all in luck and title/desc/tags I think. Just wondering if anyone knew anything. and over a 300k views

    I think cyberzilla hit the nail on the head with his post except forgot to mention favorites. The authority of your account has to play some kind of factor also, I have no proof of this just a thought but noteable channels / partners videos are always ranking first youtube must have some kind of pagerank for channels which lists them higher in search results depending on their PR. Another thing to keep in mind is age of your competitors channels and how long the competing videos have been live.

    Check your insights how do they look for all your categorys anything raise a flag to you? if it does you can bet its also raising a flag to youtube. Try running a campaign if you can afford it, I know if I owned a video sharing site I would rank paid customers/partners bringing in revenue to me before I ranked joe schmoe.
