Ranking For A Few Hours

So. Whenerver i create a new page on my site, properly optimize it and get it indexed , it usually ranks 90 for a few hours and then falls to n/a . My root domain has 1k backlinks from different pbns here in bhw and all pages are indexed . What could be the reason , Thanks.

Oh, you mean an inner page? I don't think that's so abnormal, but how long does your ranking drop off?

If there aren't any links pointing to your inner page and your root domain isn't highly authoritative, it's not very likely any of your inner pages would maintain a rank as well.

Edit: I forgot to mention, if you want to rank an inner page, build some links towards that page too. I mean you should be doing that anyway just to maintain links throughout most of your site to look "natural", but you could focus more links on specific pages you want to rank.

Also, I'm not 100% sure if this is still a viable method since I'm a bit out of date with techniques, but you could also try interlinking pages between your sites.

That's standard 'dance'.

Give it some time.. Build a couple of internal links and that page should settle in a couple of days/weeks.

Nothing unusual about that at all. Count on it doing that a couple of times before it settles.

Completely sounds like a dance brother. Is the same occurring for all pages?

Idk why people are calling this the "Google Dance". I was under the impression that only happens if you're having an ongoing campaign of some sort and the SERP rankings are bouncing around a lot.

I mean like according to the OP, it sounds more like he's briefly in the rankings and then drops out into oblivion, not bouncing up and down in ranking.

When your rank tracker shows N/A that does not mean your site is unranked. I am guessing your rank tracker is able to track up to the 100th position max. You can search for your site manually as from the 10th page.

Internal links can also cause a Google dance because a new internal page gains several internal links (or many for large sites) after it is published.

I've never had this issue before (maybe it's because I've only had small sites of between 15-30 articles, not hugely authoritative ones). However, I'm entirely sure it's still plausible.

It seems he gets a brief ranking for a few hours and then drops into oblivion, I wouldn't consider this as a "dance". Doesn't seem like to me he has any internal link building either, he says he just has 1K inbound links.

What the OBL and quality of the domain backlinks?

They play a big factor in your ranking otherwise you could be heading the negative way without the provider caring.

Create back links to the pages you create newly in your website and make them interlinked with other inner pages and let them settle. Then check your ranking and take appropriate measures to improve it.
