ranking fb page?

anyone have experience with facebook fanpages?

Should we use traditional seo methods for this? or not recommended to try ?

If you are talking about ranking them in search, you can use some traditional methods however only the default home page gets indexed. Just fill out the profile as much as you can (ideally all fields should be filled), add keywords that relate to your niche or business, make sure you add images (keyword in file name couldn't hurt) and that's about it.

Yea there are some SEO methods in your facebook fan page, lets start with the fan page name, it cant be too spammy,your fans will be less likely to engage with your page.
Once you create a facebook URL make sure to include what your business is about within it.
Google places higher importance on pages with specific information, so a good thing to do is to place your address and phone number of the business.
Create backlinks to your fan page on blogs sites and twitter profile.
Pay attention to the META description, its the first 18 characters of your post, so take advantage of it.

Most of the fb pages rank gradually when u have enough detail related to the keyword in your page.
