Ranking & Browse Features

Hello BHW Community, it's been a while i have been inactive in the community for almost 2 years. Trying to get back in the game, any experts out there know anything about browse features and ranking videos in that section. I did a big project in 2019 when i got that video in the browse features section using a combination of tactics -

1- Stream Ads
2- High retention views + Likes + Comments
3- Social media ads
4- Social media backlinks (usually profile embeds or fb sharing)

I can't share the video link for obvious reasons but i remember doing the following -

1- 1 Million stream ads
2- 200k retention views + 20k likes + 2k comments
3- I mostly did IG story ads & fb post boosting
4- Random pages and profile i used back in the days to accumulate backlinks.

Keep in mind the artist had enough social media interaction that he brought over 200k views over a month. But the video was featured in the browse features section on the 4th day of promo. I did the 1 million stream ads in the first 36 hours including the likes and comments and spread the 200k retention views over a period of 1 week.

My question to you guys has anything changed in the last 2 years? as i am thinking of starting multiple channels using royalty-free music long videos to earn a side income stream. Setting up such channels won't be a problem and finding and uploading music don't give me much hassle as i know a couple of friends who can make random long looped music for me. I would really appreciate your thoughts and comments here or any other ideas would be highly regarded.

many artists and undergroud ones still do the same. hr views with likes and comments. to get into browse, you need a good ctr and retention and engagement from actual accounts that watch your video. smm panels dont provide this. thats why many artists also use organic methods like ad views and social media, to gain real engagement

Yes i agree even YouTube is more inclined towards organic engagements. No matter even if you give 10 million views from ads and there is little engagement and especially if the engagement is fake generated there is a small chance YouTube algorithm will push your videos to browse features or suggested section.

When it comes to small artists with little to no engagement from social media the problem persists and video will die or get lost in a couple of days.

till this moment, everything on this single thread is truth.

YouTube is way to smart now the only thing left to do is advertising and real promotion, It will save you a lot of time and head ache

Yes i do agree, thats why i always add at least 60-70% of the views from adwords either it's stream for getting high retention or display for getting the engagement. What do you think is the best strategy for a long term video ranking and getting constant views from multiple sources (Search, Suggested and Browse).

The best strategy is just to build a dedicated sub base who have notificationcoj and watch every video. If you have this then your channel will keep growing.

Agreed, but the only problem with that is targeting a single niche and growing the sub-base either just through YT or using social media to transfer them needs time and dedication. The second possible way is to invest money and use ads and try to rank, both methods are long-term.
