Ranking Brand New Websites

Hi guys,

It has been about 2 years since I have done proper SEO. A month ago I made 2 new websites in low competition niches and ordered 2 link diversity packages from here to get the ball rolling. One website is about 1 month old and not ranking at all but indexed. The second one is about 3 weeks old and on page 7. Even 2 years ago with on page SEO I was able to get sites popping up on page 3/4. Is this a new thing and I need to be more patient? Not expecting websites to rank out of nowhere but thought they would be on page 3/4 with some basic links done. Just wondering what other peoples experiences are with brand new domains? Competition on page 1 basically have no links and are just ranking because they are 3/4 year old domains.

It depends upon your keyword competition but when building links, you need to allow too long a time for them to have their impact.
 
Yeah competition is weak. Most of the websites or internal pages ranking have like 0 or only a few weak backlinks. As I said I thought because the competition is so weak I would pop up on page 3/4 with just good on page SEO as that is what used to happen.
 
It’s hard to say these days but google employees have gone on record saying brands are the future of search so it may not be a stretch to say they’re giving preference to those domains because they’re older.
 
Yeah it seems that way. I guess patience is the key from now on :)
 
Its really hard to rank this days. First you need a PERFECT onpage SEO.
What really important is speed! If your site is slow then forget ranking.
Google will NEVER like it and it will stay in the nirvana.
So basically add quality content, add all privacy pages (about us etc) check speed and if neccessary move to a faster server (cloud hosting is the future!)
 
This thread mentions 2 sub-topics: speed and brand. Yes, I have the feeling that brand is massive nowadays. That's why new websites tend to be nowhere the first months after their launch.

Is seems that brand is so improtant now, that established ecommeres or websites with bad onsite SEO and EXTREMLY slow speed, can still outrank their competitors. Brand and old links seem really to be the strongest factors nowadays...

Do you feel the same ?
 
I give it 6 months for a brand new website to start gaining traction.
 
Yes looking at the competition it is old websites with very bad SEO just ranking because they are a few years old. I think it will just take longer than it used to be that is just my guess at this point.
 
hi mate, have you tried submitting in GWT? if done, maybe try building more links with proper velocity as well as promoting in social media.

Did you check if the backlink pages are indexed or Google bot have gone through the updated page so that your links are crawled and site is receiving proper link juice?
