About 3 weeks ago one of my websites dropped from positions 6,7 & 8 on G down to the 500's for it's main keyword. (All the other keywords dropped as well) I had been mainly doing AMR blasts when it dropped.
It got down as low as 750 (yesterday) before coming back today at 7,8 & 9.

Since it dropped I had stopped doing AMR blasts and concentrated on getting good quality backlinks. I searched on G for a related keyword + "add your link"

I was surprised at how many results came back from high PR websites in the same industry who offered reciprocal link exchanges. (Not spammy link directories but quality websites)

I just created a page on my website called 'Useful Links' and added the links to these sites in there.

My links were added to most of the websites quite quickly too.

Not sure if this was directly responsible for my jump back in the rankings but I am very happy to be back on top!

Now, do I keep doing backlinking the slow way .... or go back to blasting with AMR? I think maybe I will mix it up a bit.

how much links you got from quality sites? how much from previous blasts? quality/blackhat ratio?

Never just do AMR, get some good quality backlinks in there too!

haha wat a relief

Well yes, it was a relief. Stayed back on the front page of G for 2 whole days. Now back at 522,523 & 524!

Strange, the same 3 pages are also listed at 622,623,624 & 716,717,718

This is according to Seoserp

Hopefully just dancing.... will keep working on it.

So you pretty much did link exchange? Either ways congrats on getting back, high quality links = the best long term thing you will ever do!
