I don't know, but maybe, from now on, its safer for you to avoid many repeated WEB 2.0 pointing to your website since they are coming from the same domain (different subdomains but the same domain).
Try to diversify it.
Changing links shouldn't be a problem, but as you said, I think you did that at the same time, right? If so, that is a trigger to that something is strange.
It was actually a naked or brand link. I changed to an exact match + phrase. I don't know, maybe that's not the thing.
I will remove every suspicious link I have crawled in GSC and try again.
