Hey guys,

Is it possible to rank for a keyword with a one page website ? if I target this keyword in the homepage article's content and optimized it for seo with backlinks can google rank the website ( the homepage ) in the first page of google for this keyword ?

btw the competition is low and the first site in the SERPS has only 7 poor links with poor content. also the article will be 3000-4000 words long and it will be useful to the user to read.

should I have a website full of pages and content so google can take it seriously to be able to start ranking or it doesn't matter as long us i rank will for this keyword even if it's only a one page site ?

It's a brochure site and it doesn't have to have a lot of pages and content because it only focuses on one thing ( the keyword ).

Yes it is, actually I have a site like that, only 1 page, 1 high search keyword that I am number 1 for. Anything is possible

Yes. If the competition for a keyword is not high. I have one site like that but with local SEO small competition keyword.

I think it's almost if not fully impossible nowadays to rank it in high competition niche. You gotta have at least privacy policy, terms and about us & contact us pages to look more legit.

You can provide to a one-page site the same value as a multiple page site. Consider that you linkbuilding could come from multiple sources, even a support multipage site that offers a good anchored an different link from different points and serves as a secondary authority source. Google takes each page individually for scoring, therefore the chances of ranking are exactly the same as with a common site with multiple pages. So technically it could seem a challenge, but unless you are going for a very competitive niche, you will be completely fine.

Although personally I'm not happy with trying to rank just for a couple of keywords, because the variability of Google can drive you nuts when you see it's not responding to your efforts. Therefore, from my point of view, unless you are potentially earning a huge amount of money, I would never spend my time on a one-pager.

Buddy, it is still possible.

Main question here is: Are you willing to put in that time of money and effort for one time thing?

When I was young, we had 45% commission on $200 products. So, when I sell 10 of these I was quite happy.

Now, things are a bit different. You might want to consider a different strategy. LONG TERM strategy.

It is possible but I think it takes time and also it depends on your competition. Make sure you have valuable and user engaged content, Quality and diversified links, and anchor text variation.
Keep on updating with fresh content and images. Share it on social media and reach the target audience.

it's not an informative nor affiliate site it's just advertising one thing like an offer, i just need one article for one local keyword and this keyword has no competition and the front page is just spammy content which i think i can outrank easy. can i just optimize the homepage for the keyword with adding some content on it with other pages like contact us and FAQ and privacy policy and rank for it ?

also if i added diversified links and social links and all, how long will google take to get to the top results ?

I second @DeadShot. He's right on the money. If the niche is competitive you ought to go for multiple page website.

Yes, It's possible... It really matters that website should have well organized article include proper heading and unique content.

Since SEO is based on RankBrain which is (CTR, Bounce Rate, Dwell Time), the most important thing is your UX and using a single-page website it's harder even if you have the most powerful backlinks in the world, Google algorithms calculate the bounce rate by tracking the Request URL Changing, so if the user gets into your website he should click at least on some buttons to go from page1 to page2 pr he will be considered as bounced user...

And for Dwell time you should put long content or some embedded videos to keep the user on the page as much as possible...

What I recommend for you is make at least a 3 pages website and make their buttons on the top header.
