Ranking a New Domain Extension

High all, I've found a good local domain name but it has the new type of extension. ( a word )

Has anyone ranked one of these new extensions?

How do they perform in the search engines?

It won't impact your rankings, it's more of a branding aspect.

The only factor that could play is that if it's very unusual it might decrease your CTR compared to say, .com, thus indirectly lower your ranking but that's pretty much it.

the domain is something like - atlantaseo.agency

How do you think that would do in the serps?

This ^ sums it up.

I personally always for for .com then .org or .info in that order.
If I want a UK facing site, .co.uk

It's a personal choice as from a humans perspective, these are more ' serious/genuine' TLDs

Yes I'm a little skeptical about the new extensions....they just don't look right. I have seen some good one in the search results though...

Yeah, I see some strange TLDs in the SERPs too. So they definitely can rank.

They will rank the same as any other TLD, but it's that personal preference.

.store .shop .xyz don't do it for me but the first 3 look brandable and memorable. .com is always best but always registered....

One thing that makes me prefer .com is that it's on the US phone keyboards... so if I buy atlantaseo.agency I would also buy atlantaseoagency.com and redirect it to avoid confusion.

Totally agree, they sound brandable BUT they are PMDs / EMDs too

all gone....except for the last one ha ha

getting hold of a decent .com is difficult.

@MisterF aren't you a fan of EMD or PMD ?

I am a fan of them, but most people don't see them as brandable mate. My EMDs and PMDs are all .coms
