Same thing. but you cannot control what software can do, where to publish it, etc. i still choose the manual submission for Tier 1.

Yes it's widely used to create T1 links....
But that's not a recommended practice if you actually care about your web property.
I personally don't like the idea of creating links on similar looking properties (like the default design of these properties that looks spammy) for every project..
Best approach is to use it for T2 great for boosting parasites.
