Hi there :)

Ranked for super competitive keyword (200k US monthly searches) on page 1 in Youtube but not getting any good traffic. I dunno either my logic or YouTube keyword tool is broken. My link in video's description was clicked only 30 times in past 3 hours. Is it normal? Any ideas where could be my mistake and how to bring more traffic?

So is the video not getting views? Or are you just getting a low CTR for your link?

People still skip the top result sometimes...try optimising the video thumbnail for conversions.

Its all together: video is getting a low mount of views + low CTR for the link. Will try to optimize my thumbnail, thank you. Can I play with optimizing the title as well or my video gets deranked? Kinda strange that such a popular ranked keyword does not bring any decent traffic :/

200k/month is divided by 30 days, divided by 3/24 hours, divided by accompanying videos on the page, divided by how many see your CTA in your video, divided by how many click it, etc.,...30 clicks in the past 3 hours is good. I don't know what you were expecting.

But sure try the other stuff to improve it too.

Good point. 200k / 30 / 24 is ideally 277 views per hour which is impossible... Probably I am too optimistic. Would blasting tons of backlinks help to rank it on G as well?

Thanks for confirming the details. If you're already ranked #1 on YouTube then it's not a good idea to mess with keywords at the moment.

You can try to encourage more people to watch by:

- optimising the thumbnail (something bright and clearly about the topic)
- adding views (people hate being pioneers)

If the video is new it won't necessarily be #1 on google too. You're doing really well so give it a bit of time and see what happens.

Visitor volumes are just estimates, so keep working on different videos and run your comparisons.
