I was recently doing a google search and found out that one of my photo galleries that are on a web gallery that I started many years ago ranks #1 on Google and I had no clue. This is great but the Problem is, there is no way to monetize that traffic as ads are not allowed on the galleries whatsoever. The photo gallery site that my photos are on is called pbase.com and it's a photo community similar to Flickr but not as popular, although I think Pbase was around before Flickr. However I was wondering how I should monetize the traffic. I don't want to give out the keyword it ranks number 1 for but it is related to an occupation. For example the keyword term is similar to: "police officer photos" it ranks number one for photos, pics and images in my particular keyword. Now since I can't put ads on the photo gallery where the pics are currently at I was thinking about posting all of those same pics into a new site with an EMD and place ads on that new site. Then remove all but a few of the pics from the pbase gallery and post a MSG saying the photos have moved to the new site. What do you think of this plan? Will doing this work well enough to keep the ranking position and still be able to make a few bucks or will doing this completely fail?
I don't think the idea is that great unless you're getting very big amount of traffic. Oh and why can't you put ads on the gallery ???
There are ad networks that will display ads over your photos, I mean on the bottom of the photo you can add ads something like google does on youtube videos.
