I bought the discount version of 'Tank Racker' at around last Christmas, but I will not be upgrading. It's slow and the upgrade subscriptions are annoying. I'm moving to a tool called Advanced Web Ranking.

Do we need private proxies for this, or are public proxies ok?

I bought 30 shared private proxies from usaproxies.net for $24/mo. Works fine. I have about 200 keywords and go 1,000 deep. RT has no problem when configured correctly to use proxies.
I agree it's a bit excessive, but the online services are still more expensive in the long run. $3/mo is not too bad.

@ $3/month for RT updates and @ $24/month for proxies, that works out to be $27 per month.
Still cheaper than online SERP trackers; since you have 200 keywords, but i guess if anyone got anything less than that, its probably not worth it?
