rank tracker worth it?

you guys with this drama must be doing it wrong - I track over 500 keywords and run it daily, are you using private proxies, with proxie rotation? I'm only using 10 and having no problems. Have you got the captcha key. $5 or $6 or whatever the smallest option is lasts me about 6 weeks. I do use the human emulation - but not too carefully either

If you pay for 3 years of upgrades it comes to $3/mo. Not too bad.
I just bought it. The only problem is it never finishes doing the keyword queries...the campaign either gets paused (i enforce human factors and delays) or the ip gets banned too easily even w/ proxies.

Yeah. I ended up just buying it because I wanted to turn my computer off. Pretty lame for a trial version to not save anything.

As for the proxies, yes I'm using 30 on rotation, I use scrapebox all the time no problems. SE Rank Tracker gets paused after about 5 keywords. I enabled human mode even...and dialed up the safe search settings.

+1 for serpbook.com. It's minimal, but delivers. I've also used the Raven Tools service, which is very powerful but $$$.

I get a 500 at serpbook.com

Non lifetime license, this pretty sucks! I would opt for SerpBuddy

You get 6-months of updates free, but after that if you buy the 3-year update plan it comes to less than $3/mo -- I still agree though, paying for updates sucks. Also, the rank checking is INCREDIBLY slow. 50 keywords 100 deep for one domain takes like an hour...and my 30 proxies end up getting banned.

I don't know what the problem is w/ their software, I can query 65k urls from scrapebox/google no problem in about 10 minutes.

Please tell me what settings you are using...I am only tracking 37 keywords and I go 200 deep (w/ 30 private proxies).

After about 50% of the way, all queries get "paused". WTF is this? I've emailed support, and sent them my project...they just replied with "everything works fine for us".

I'm using human emulation w/ default settings. This is driving me nuts...I'm about ready to ask for my money back.

i say F'em...putting in sneaky $hit like that. Like you I get pauses, hangs and it just have to close it. Rank Trackr is not worth it, especially the ongoing subscription.

I fixed my pausing problems. Change the settings to do 100 results per page, use proxy rotation (and uncheck that box that says to use your own ip if proxies are dead).
Also, uncheck the setting for data center rotation -- once I did this, I stopped getting the pause settings in Google.

I like RT because you can go 1,000 deep for unlimited number of keywords. Most other services only go 100 deep, so if you're just starting out, you won't find anything.
I agree, the ongoing update plan is lame, they should kill that shit. Or at least offer a lifetime version.

Have installed on PC which was brought from DL section, but not having time to check if it works after the update as well.

Giving micromasters a try.

update: well, I entered a site and 10 keywords. how the !@$ do I get a report?

I'm also using RankTracker and I love it. It's well worth the price. I only paid for the $99. I wish there was a lifetime option though.

Yeah, so far Rank Tracker beats 'em all.

I am on link-assistant site now but i cant seem to find the pricing for 'updates'?
Are they mandatory updates or what? Please advise. thanks

They update their software frequently because basically they are scraping search engines and those pages change regularly. So I can see why they charge you. The first 6 months are included w/ your purchase.

I can't find it anymore, maybe they took it down. But it used to be an asterisk on the main page. Basically, you pay something like $3/month if you buy 3 years upfront. Might want to email them and find out for sure.

UPDATE: here it is:

So in general, the above pricing for 'updates' will be on-top of what I will be paying for the tool itself.
So it will be something like $99 for rank-tracker (license), then after 6 months, I will be required to select one of those update packages above?

It seems quite pricey, unless there are a lot of keywords I want to track.
From my understanding, it takes time + huge amount of proxies in order for it to function properly,
whereas subscription service like serpbooks is just 1-click away from tracking everything?

Thanks again.

I use raven in the agency and damn it's crap, I like the link manager but the rank tracker is pants 60% of the time

Can you share a little more info on how you use rank tracker?
How many keywords you have on your list and how many proxies it usually takes etc.

Thanks in advance
