Ok lately MS has been absolutely retarded for me, just not working right at all, not completing or being outright crap.

I've started using rank tracker again because it just seems to have way less bugs and be better software all-round. What do you guys think?

Neither, I'm using the trial version and just keep renewing the trial version by deleting the settings folder and inputting a new email address and code.

There have been countless updates to MS lately but it still has it's issues. I have a legit copy too. What is this Rank Tracker? I just use the one that's in MS.

Rank tracker is great, but it doesn't have the research capabilities that MS has, although I haven't had any issues with MS at all...

They have also just punched up their prices to $147...

What's with this $97 - $147 price point that so many tools have...

I think you can still get MS for $97 if you get the trial first, once you do that they will offer it at a discounted price. MS has been buggy for me lately as well, many searches sit just stuck on 96-99% and never finish plus some random issues here and there. Most of the time closing and then reopening it will take care of the issue. Good software so I hope they get these minor things fixed.

Rank tracker is a great tool to use for checking serps. I have been using that and do not have much problems except maybe when customising my reports.
But if you want just to get your rankings, then it pretty much does the trick.

Newbie question - you talk about deleting the "settings" fold to extend MS trial, where exactly is that folder? Every time I try to download new trial, after removing current version of ms from my pc, MS tells me my trial is expired, they obviously have a way of knowing that a previous version was on my computer. I have checked the MS folder in program files but can't find the "settings" folder.

Looks like I gotta try Rank Tracker. MS does seem to be having some problems lately. But it's kinda expensive to make the switch. Anyone here bought both MS and Rank Tracker?

One thing I do not like about rank tracker is that you can not see your ranks in one page and with Market Samurai, once your trial is over and you reset the trial, your rankings are all reset. Not sure if someone knows how to prevent this.

Its in the appdata folder.

In windows 7 go to to C:\Users\yourname\Appdata\Roaming\Marketsamurai.xxxxxxx

Delete that folder and install a fresh one.

I too have problem with MS trial version.. I don't think that it generates enough keywords.. i compare directly to Google Keyword and GK is better in term of results..lol!

maybe it just happen for trial only.. i just don't know...

I love RankTracker especially the that you see a graphic of your ranking history for every keyword.

MS had a problem with not displaying Title Competition or # of urls containing exact match keywords, but they just released an update two days ago that fixed that. I have the paid version of MS and think it is 100% worth the money. Definitely my preference.
