Hi guys. My sites rank pretty high in google n competitive keywords ( #1-#3 in SERP), but ll of them are only like #10 in Bing. What am I overlooking? Btw, i registered in bing webmaster tools, submitted the sitemap etc, and it almost instantly (like in 2 days) increased my ranking by 2, so maybe its worth doing. But what else? I don't really want to try experimenting, so that not to lose the more important google rankings, but shouldn't Bing be a whole lot easier?
In my experience Bing does what Google used to do, simply ignore bad links even though they have the disavow tool. I say this because when we got Neg Seo'd we lost rank with Google but kept our rank in Yahoo/Bing. In other words, you can take more chances BUT if you are ranking in Google just keep doing what you are doing eventually Bing may catch up.
I have the same problem, ranking perfectly in Google and almost nowhere to be found on the others. I too, don't get it.
You can't rank in both... they are 90% different. It seems like Bing is not penalizing websites. I like this so far. (Of course don't buld 100.000 links/day, I'm talking about "normal" circumsances) So, I think is more profitable to make another website that ranks in Bing, instead of trying to rank same website in all search engines.
This isnt true, you can rank in both. Bing = loves backlinks, massive massive amounts of Anchor-heavy backlinks. I have a site on the front of Bing for one of the most competitive SEO related keywords in the world, and all it took was a baz-fuck-illion tons of backlinks blasted to the site and a ton, TON, of content on the page. Google likes diversity, Bing likes quantity.
From my personal experience the biggest different between Google and Bing in backlinks: Google likes: Hey ma look no hands < link No hands ma, look, look < link Oh I did it with no hands ma < link And Bing likes same as links as Google, plus: Hey ma look no hands < link Hey ma look no hands < link Hey ma look no hands < link From gazillion places. Just my 2c. in it.
Any specific type of backlink work better for bing? contextual, blog, forum, etc. Also I read bing only likes d0--follow links. Pays no attention to n0--follow.
I have opposite results Ranking on the 1st pages of Bing for all of my keywords, BUT nowhere to be found in Google... I have dozen MNS sites, btw. Probably that's because they're MNS and EMD alltogether Google now hates me. Just my thoughts.
Basically just spam your brains out and you'll rank in Bing somehow. Whenever Google ranks go down, Bing ranks go up. If your goal is to rank in Bing and you don't care about Google ranking, just do what you use to do like 3-5 years ago to rank a site in Google and you should be #1 in Bing in no time.
Have to agree. I have some sites that ranked well before panda/penguin updates. Now they're nowhere to be found but my Bing rankings actually went up. So it looks like Bing is just slower to rank and isn't as up to speed on spam links as Google is.
