Does anyone have experience in Rank & Rent and can share some insights?

I'm thinking about launching a rank & rent website but I don't know if its profitable. I know that it can work in theory but I'm looking for some "real" experiences.

It is possible, you just have to be sure of the niche and current competition. Businesses should be willing to pay rent provided you can give them leads that'll make them more money.
 
I also want some tips on this RNR site, when you start a site do you also register location and start GMB for it. as you know this is going to be fake location and what if people land on the fake location after it ranks.
 
If you choose a good niche definitely get good revenue from "rank then rent"
 
Once you have created your sites etc. you still need to be able to "sell" the rental idea to the client. Look for businesses that are also currently spending money on ads etc. They will most likely have budgets to spend then.
 
I have tried this, after I send hundreds of emails, no one replied, so the hardest part is getting them to reply. So you have to call them up or walk into their business to get their attention. this was my experience.
 
Yes there are many niche's where people pay. all you need to do is find those keywords and then contact the buyers you think will be interested
Pitch them why it is better to rent your website :)

There will be many local services who will take be your customers like doctors, dentists, electricians and the list goes on.
You should definitely give it ta go.
 
How do you guys operate the Rank and Rent model (RNR)?
I see some people in other threads talking about pinging an email on to a specific client (which sounds more like lead-gen / lead-management to me)
To my mind, RNR is when you take a local URL - like dentistlasvegas.com - to the top of Google and then would rebrand the domain to suit whatever client is paying for it.
What am I missing?
Also, how big a factor is the GMB in all this?
 
Sometimes it's easier to capture the leads yourself and sell that instead of ranks since most businesses owners don't really know the true value of SEO ranks and what they can expect in return
 
It's easier to sell the leads than rent the site. Just use Callrail or some other call tracking software and charge them per qualified lead. This way you can just send them some free sample leads to entice them before committing. Just make sure when you do sign them up you have then pay an upfront deposit to cover the leads.
 
Model does not work.

Maybe in some special situations, but generally speaking it is not worth
 
I found that it does work pretty good with local businesses. Services to be precise.
Rank a GMB listing locally to the 3Pack and you will get leads automatically.
The hardest part in my opinion is to sell those leads to the business. Often times the business owners don´t understand at all what you´re oferring them. Needs lot´s of explanation work.
 
I can say I've proven this method on 2 accounts so far a period of 6 months. PPL categories have varying fee per lead in my niche. Have been doing pay per the lead, so far these 2 guys haven't lied to me. I wamt to convert to flat rate monthly based on average call volume / form fills, looks like $300/mo or so. Cancel out the BS of babysitting leads. Rev share was always a bad move for me, everyone is a liar.

People call/buy from legit business with established personal branding.

Ok. I could fake an address, photos, reviews, etc....

I get some calls.

Here in my country calls are 0 value, the businesses does not buy leads.

You have the internet - you can generate leads in any country you want
