Hello guys,

I have a country targeted blog ( 5 months old). I easily come up on page 2 on almost all the keywords I target (12th - 16th position). Sometimes in page 1 for low comp. Kw.

After adding a web2.0 ( 1 tumblr to be specific..PA= 42), my blog will come up on the first page in Google serp (7th - 10th) depending on how tough the KW is.

When I try to add another web 2.0 to increase the ranking, it stays thesame (won't increase).

After some time (2-3 days) my ranking will start dropping to page 3 or sometimes stays at its original position in page 2.

This happens even if I didn't add any links.

agree with you. i made 20 web 2.0 to new domain. it was ranking before i made any link. but after i did, it dropped to page 8-9. its better not to make one type of links on new domain

This is called the google dance, rankings will not be stable, this is how the serps constantly fluctuate.

It's just a Google dance. When you add new links to your site this kind of ups and downs will happen. It's normal though. It takes 2 to 4 weeks to settle down. But IMO just a single web 2.0 will not bring great impact on rankings. You need to build few more. Focus on getting great quality links and articles. Make sure you've done a proper on-page SEO.

Google gives you fake rank.. test some elements on ur page, then decides which position u deserve

Thanks I'll try to build more

your onpage is good/?
Yes..i think so cus I can easily rank on No. 1 in some keywords but when the big boys in my niche starts posting similar content, I will start dropping

It can be a google dance or it can be the effect of your links.
To know for sure that the links are moving your rank, you have to test this by waiting and see if the new rank gets stable.
How old is your content?

Give it some time 2-3 weeks and see if rankings settle. If settles start building links again. Rinse and repeat till you reach your goal

Just keep building and ignore the dance. You’ll eventually hit #1 and stay there if your links are good enough.

There tend to be diminishing returns to creating increasingly more links from the same domain.
For example, it's generally better to have 1 Tumblr + 1 Weebly +1 WP than 3 Tumblrs.

In addition to the general fluctuations others have mentioned, is it possible that your content is falling off other the homepage of your web 2.0? Most web 2.0s show a certain number of posts on the blog's front page (blog.whatever.com), which means your backlinks are on the home page of the blog. If you have posts scheduled out, then old posts can fall to later pages (blog.whatever.com/page-2) once new content goes live, which can potentially reduce the power of the backlink.

2 weeks old

This could be a dance and it appears that when the new links were recently discovered by G, it will add credit to your SERP, but when other metrics and algorithm takes effect when the link is further evaluated, they would adjust the SERP accordingly later. If you check SERP on a consistent basis, you'd notice that they would update a certain metrics on a certain day on a certain week.
So if the site that you have just created is a good site - ie, good metrics, free from spam, etc, then you can continuously add more of these links, and over time, it may help in your site's SERP ranking in the process. Make sure you vet these web2.0 backlink profile and make sure they are good.

Yous shouad wait for 2 weeks after adding PBN / Web 2.0 to get fair idea of ranking. With in 2 weeks it will fluctuate.
