Rank forum threads

First of all I am a complete SEO noob so I'm sorry if the question doesn't make sense.But I am curious how do people rank forum topics for certain keywords?I saw threads that are 30min old or less and they are on the 1st spot on Google for that keyword.Obv these are spam threads and they get deleted quickly but how do they rank so fast? hope that makes sense

Using something like Senuke there blasting it with backlinks ect. This will rank fast but you will end up bitch slapped by
Google and end up in real trouble with your domain and website traffic.

That can also be due to the domain's high authority I think.
