Does anyone here have experience and can give me tips here?

I have heard that this can be a bit difficult and you should consider a few things.

it is about ranking for an existing keyword in another language or country.
specifically i have a wordpress blog and woocommerce store.

both are in german language. i would now like to translate an existing blog article into french and then rank for it in france.

for the onlineshop i would use a plugin that detects the origin of the user and then adjusts the language accordingly.
the keywords should be quite easy to rank for according to semrush. do you think this can work or are there things i have to consider?

Thank you very much for your effort!

Hey Aaarrryes - Yes, I do have experience in ranking other language websites and keywords.

Try to build lot of Good Backlinks for that French URL and French Keyword.

However, I will be able to suggest you more if I get a chance to look into your website and keywords.

foreign language keywords are genrally easier to rank. just put german on whole site. it will rank automatically. no need to share your site to others

Ranking in other languages requires more effort and resources than ranking in one language, but it can also bring more benefits and opportunities for your business.

Thanks to all. So there can be no problems?

For example, if I have a website that is built like this:

websitename.com/target-keyword - this article is in german and also the complete website /rest of the blog

no i create a url like this with the translated article in french:

websitename.com/fr/target-keyword

Do you think this is ok? And it's not bad that there are no other french pages?

Translating your existing blog article into French and aiming to rank for it in France sounds like a good plan. Using a language detection plugin for your online shop to adjust the language based on the user's origin is a smart move too. Just make sure to optimize the translated content for your target keywords in French and pay attention to local SEO factors like backlinks from French websites and localized meta tags.

What about your permalink structure? Will you change it to other languages too?

Translating your content into another language and targeting a different country can be a great way to expand your audience and reach new customers. Here are some tips to help you rank for your target keyword in France:

Conduct keyword research: Use a keyword research tool like SEMrush to find relevant keywords that people in France are searching for in your industry. Make sure to target keywords that have low competition and high search volume.

Translate your content: Translate your blog article into French using a professional translation service or a native speaker. You can also use machine translation tools like Google Translate, but make sure to edit the text for accuracy and readability.

Optimize your content: Optimize your French content for your target keyword by including it in the title, meta description, and throughout the article. Use relevant subheadings, images, and links to provide context and improve user experience.

Build backlinks: Build backlinks from French websites to your French content to improve its authority and ranking in France. Contact French bloggers, journalists, and influencers in your industry and ask them to link to your content.

Use hreflang tags: Use hreflang tags to indicate to search engines that your French content is targeted to users in France. This will help search engines serve the correct version of your content to users in different countries.

Localize your onlineshop: Use a plugin that detects the origin of the user and then adjusts the language accordingly. Additionally, make sure tolocalize your product descriptions, prices, and shipping information for the French market to improve the user experience and increase conversions.

Monitor your results: Monitor your rankings, traffic, and conversions for your French content over time. Use tools like Google Analytics and Search Console to track your progress and identify areas for improvement.

It is important to note that ranking in a different country and language can take time and effort, and success is not guaranteed. However, if you follow these tips and remain consistent with your efforts, you may see positive results over time. Good luck with your endeavors!
