Rank and Rent

(Not sure if this is considered white hat, please delete if its not :).)
Just to add a little value in this discussion, if you do try many other locations, i advise you create google my buisness and bing places accounts for each new location if you truely wanta capture leads. U will have to buy ups boxes to verify each location but google maps atleast for my clients, gets 8 times as many calls as their website does for the same top ranking. Idk how to get around the customer seeing a not real location but iv seen other mention this method before.

Nice yeah I was looking into that, thanks. Are you involved in this business? From a rent or PPCall perspective if so?

rank and rent and pay per lead/call is a ball ache. just because its local doesnt mean its always easy. in a lot of markets there are very low search volume (even no searches at all) but there will be local companies spending sizeable budget to rank because they were sold by SEO agencies. if you go the pay per lead route be ready to fight them anytime you send the bill on what leads should be considered a "lead".

How much easier than targeting the right keywords for local can it get? If you settle a high price per call then there's not a need for high volume. I believe most people aim for at least $70 a call, in many cases much more. Also, I wonder how much these SEO agencies really care about John the roofer, amongst their other 30 clients, where I'm pelting to knock him out the top 3 with his 10 backlinks.

There are pros and cons to everything in IM but it seems your approach is overly pessimistic. Thanks for sharing your thoughts anyway.

I'm not trying To be pessimistic, just trying to share my experience. even in pay per call it's a hassle because you'll have telemarketers calling , you'll have people from outside their service area calling, people that call your tracking number for customer service cus they forgot the companies number and they googled the company , etc etc. none of those calls are qualified leads and your client will not want to pay for those calls. All I'm saying is it's not as easy as people make it out to be. It's not as handsoff as most people assume. Good luck getting 80 bucks a call lol

Speaking as a contractor first, I heard that Angie's List or Home Advisor is like 35 bucks a lead and figure it going out to three contractors to attempt to close. I don't use these services, but my friend that does home remodeling and garage doors told me so.
