Hello guys

I try to help my father to rank better in google "place" for Shops

like this : http://www.google.com/search?num=10...6&q=pizza+seattle&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=

I cant figure out what's algorythm google use to rank pizzera in the upper part ? Its link-building ? number of reviews ?

I heard before that it was location on the map, but my father's restaurant is in the center-center of the city, best location, and it not rank good at all

How can I change that ?

Easy, make deep research on 5 to 8 pizza related local keywords and use them all over the profile.. Pm me otherwise ;-)

Are you sure it's like "normal" SEO ?
Because long time ago my father's site was first without any SEO, but someone find his pasword and remove the add..
Now he cannot come back first

In my experience it is very much like "Normal SEO" only much much slower to respond to changes.

I think that clickthrough plays a big part in the ranking of google places.

Try and re-register your dad and keep the password. Also it will nice for you to know the difference between google places and google local

one of it is free the other one is $25 per month paid to google

I think number of reviews is also another factor. I see so many people paying people to review their shop on google places.

i have 2 pizzerias ranked high in the local searches.. im actually in the pizza business also.. check out: http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=pizza+in+millis

it is a small town but im also in the first page on the surround towns... hopefully will take over first spot in each town.. havent dont much seo work to it yet

Couple of things:

There are legit ways to syndicate your reviews without having to incentive people to write them for you.

Your area of affect will vary depending upon other's efforts as time goes by. I have seen it where results display in other cities, but as soon as someone else did anything it was back to showing up in it's own city only.

As far as getting your dad to the top, if you send me a link to his listing I can give some pointers or do it for you. pm
