Random threads pinned

Why do some apparently random threads get pinned. Like this one "This is how much i made from youtube shorts so far". I saw that quite often now and I don't get it.

Threads get pinned from a variety of sub forums, every week as they are in the newsletter. Then there are other threads that are deemed essential reading for that section. You can be sure any you see this week, won't be there next week, and we'll have new ones.
