Random phone calls after registering domain??

How do they get my phone number? I thought I made my info private when I registered my domain. Its phone calls and emails from people looking to build a website or phone apps for my website.

Whois/privacy nowadays is a joke. You get it but the registrar goes and sells your info.

Where did you register your domain? was it some 1$ discounted one?

when u buy a domain then they ask you to purchase further package for around 70usd for a year to protect your info and address tlf etc . if you dont do it then it will be exposed to the world in whois.com/net etc websites which stores info with domain . they are mostly companies trying to sell you something again.
