Random guest blog idea

I've had this idea for a couple years now but have been too lazy and/or haven't had enough confidence in the idea to move forward.

I was thinking of creating a blog just for allowing guest blogs. I'd allow thousands of guest blogs for free, on any topic (except spam, adult content, ideological stuff, etc.), and eventually charge for guest posts.

The purpose of this blog is first to build a site that I control with strong Domain Authority for the purposes of promoting my businesses, and then also, as a passive income stream later on once the DA is high enough for people to be willing to pay for guest posting.

I'm sure some of y'all have thought of this, tried it yourself, or have used similar sites... isn't Mashable more or less operating under this model?

Just make sure the domain you buy is strong enough. And make sure you create a subpage that includes the keywords "write-for-us" in the URL

If google find it BOOM so make sure you don’t make it evident you collect paid guest posts

You're essentially trying to build an article directory. You'll get penalized eventually. Google dislikes websites where anyone can sign up and submit an article with little or no editorial intervention.

You can try it out; I'm not going to discourage you. But, an article/guest post directory probably won't last in Google if it becomes popular.
