Couldn’t find much newer info on it. Is it still around, do you experience a drop after putting a link to get back again, if so how long does it usually take?
The moment you add a link then the site drops and stays dropped for a while and Google monitors you to see if you remove the link. What do you mean actually?
I understand that, my question was how long does the artificial rank usually takes? This is a Google patent designed to keep you in the dark about link quality.
They make it impsosible to do A/B comparison with/without a link, so you can't easily determine if the link is good or not.
A drop in rankings is artificially injected so you think the link is bad, then if you remove it, they flag you.
The only way to work around this is to know which links WILL be good before Google does.
That, of course, is an art. It's what sets good SEO's apart.

By authority you mean like a good guest post from a popular site?2 weeks to 3 months
Depends on several factors
If you get featured somewhere with high authority it can be overrun quickly
