Ramping up activity on a new site

Has anybody got a timeframe that they use when they new domain. I have a domian that i bought in August and put up a temp site in September. Put up main ecommerce site last week. Ive been adding links slowly and i have keywords being recognised in G.

I want to use xrumer, SB etc to really ramp up my presence...is it too soon? Should i leave it a while?

It will be my main site so need too be a little careful...but ultimately i need to get up the rankings asap.

Would be great to hear others that have been in this dilemma and what they did...and achieved.

Opinions please....

I have never had a problem building large numbers of links to a new site, as long as you keep up the levels you should be fine.

The problems occur when you build 000's of links for a while then stop for months then build more, that looks like you are building links but if you had a great site with a great product it would naturally get loads of links but it would not have the artificial drop off between.

so the key is consistency not levels?
