I wondered why the hell I saw a massive jump in my rankings and traffic 1-2 weeks ago, now I know. I never went close to networks as I knew what was going to happen. Anything that is PUBLIC is known to G and hence it will get stamped out. That's why if you've got something that works, DON'T FUCKING SHARE IT HERE. Because they i.e. matt cunts , G swarmbots and more G cronies, all read BHW and other IM forums. It sounds selfish to not share it, but for gods sake, if you make it public it will work eventually for 0 people. If you keep it to yourself, at least it will work for 1 person.
I'm currently contemplating the cost of making, say, 100 sites solely to get links from. But 1000$ just on domains. Unique IP for each site, $2 x 12 months x 100 = $2400 per year. Hosting say 10 hosting accounts, $1000 per year. Content costs $5 per post you make. If you want to keep your site quality it has to be unique hand written. The cost just becomes astronomical. They really want to squeeze your balls until you use adwords don't they...
I am never going to take joy in other people getting slapped by G, because I know how it feels. But really, it was always coming. And it's been way too easy to rank using networks while those who don't use networks have been put at a major disadvantage. Many of my sites which used to be #4-#5 have shot to #1 and stayed there. It shows how many sites ranking automatically with blog networks were basically taking money off hard working SEO guys like me. I am not saying all people with BMR etc didn't work hard, but it was a really useful shortcut/hole in G's system for a long time that finally got closed. If I were matt cunts I would not even make myself a public figure like that, because I would hate to be the subject of some guy whose income has been taken away overnight, loses his house etc. I just think it's fucked up how one company wields so much power over people's fortunes. Even whether they live a happy, prosperous life, or whether they kill themselves through crushing depression. It's fucked up how matt cunts stands there in his glasses talking about it like he is all high and mighty, he tries to come across as friendly and not wanting to be evil as the G slogan says, but deep down, deep deep down, you know that four eyed pigeon loves the power.
The question is: Is making your own network really economically viable?
