Quora post got collapsed for editing and inserting link

Today I got an upvote for a quora article and I checked to see if it had been on I had left a link to my website on.

It was but I had forgot to add the hyperlink, WIthout thinking much I added it in and about 20 mins later someone followed that link to my site and then collapsed my answer.

I appealed and basically just restated everything that happened including me being excited about the upvote and rechecking the article and a couple of hours later they un collapsed the answer.

Just thought this might be worth keeping an eye on. I am guessing if you add a link in after the fact it flags the post to be manually checked, and if your website is as thin as mine currently is your likely to get your answer collapsed .... also does anyone know if they allow affiliate links in the questions? I have been linking out to amazon using a non affiliate link thus far.

What do you mean, did you sent a message to quora suport to uncolapse the answer and they did so?

yes there was an option to appeal their decision and they did not talk to me about why they accepted my appeal but it fixed the question being collapsed

Quora admins are quite the nightmare. Goodluck. If it's any consolation there links are no-follow

OP, how do you select which questions to answer? Follower count? Niche-specificity?

I have just been answering niche relevant questions. I have a very niche specific website and Im hoping some traffic converts, I have had all of 2 visitors so far to the site but I have scored a few links as well.

of course my best day is 6 people on my site so 2 is pretty strong lol

I have 200+ traffic/day in some niches

Ok, let me explain why:

1. Post unique content

2. At least 300 words+

3. Do not add spam links

You should add answers to at least 10 questions + to test collapsed status

It has become harder now and most of the answers with links get collapsed.

Do you guys know if all posts with links go through some kind of check?

It seems random which answers with links they collapse and which they don't.

Edit: does it help you to ask questions with another account? Does this gives you more control on the approved answers?

Most of the answers with links are posted earlier.

I've noticed this as well. Tried editing aff links to a different product & a few of them were removed.
