Quora partner program turned into scam?

I have seen more and more people saying that they arent getting paid
some italian claim that he earned $20k and got insta banned

Can anyone translate this? That’s insane if he really got banned after 20k..just wow
 
Didn’t see a whole lot of proof other than the 1 story, but given the secrecy surround the Quora partnership program (as in, theres no clear way to get in) I wouldn’t be surprised.

How to stop them though?
 
In regard to that, i have got the following email from QUORA about their new policies. I hope this can help somebody.

Thanks to all our partners for contributing to Quora! As the program continues to grow and evolve, we'd like to remind everyone that there are policies and guidelines you must adhere to: https://www.quora.com/partners/p.... A few specific policies we'd like to highlight:

  • We take fraud very seriously; if you're discovered attempting to defraud the partner program, you will be removed immediately. This includes any attempts to generate fake traffic, answers, or ad clicks on your questions. We are actively monitoring for fraud and have already removed partners for engaging in such fraud.
  • Questions should comply with the general policies on questions: What are the main policies and guidelines for questions on Quora?. There are two new question policies specific to partner-added questions:
    • First-person questions: partners should NOT add questions phrased in the first-person tense about hypothetical, personal problems, because this specific wording is deceptive in its nature.
      • It is NOT ok to add questions like: “My 13-year-old daughter is being bullied at school, what should I do?”
      • It is OK to add questions like: “What should a parent do if their 13-year-old daughter is being bullied at school?”
    • Non-generalizable, template questions: partners should add questions that are sincere attempts to add questions that many people in the world may have. As noted in the general policies on questions, “Questions should be sincere attempts to obtain reusable information”; we believe that non-generalizable, template questions are not sincere attempts to obtain reusable information.
      • It is NOT ok to add questions like: “Jane has 7 eggs and Joe took away 2, how many eggs are left?” and “Jane has 8 eggs and Joe took away 4, how many eggs are left?” These questions are not sincere attempts to add questions that many people in the world actually have.
      • It is OK to add questions like: “What's the best restaurant in San Francisco?” and “What's the best restaurant in New York?” These are questions that many people in the world actually have.
We know that these are new policies and that many of you have been adding these questions with good intentions and earning money from them. Because of this, there will be a short grace period, but going forward, you may be removed from the program if you continue to add these questions. You can always appeal your removal by writing to [email protected].​

Not only you.
 
It's an extremely risky program to put too much time and effort into, but not a full on scam. In my first 2 weeks in the program, they banned me for 2 weeks saying "the question you posted is likely to attract spammers." I appealed the ban, and they said I violated multiple policies, I asked them to point out where specifically I violated policies so that I could avoid it in the future.... no reply. I've seen tons of accounts that were 100% legit, not even making money on the site, just contributing years of work for free, get banned because they replied to someone in a somewhat aggressive tone, when that person was harassing them.

The biggest problem with bans is that questions don't really start earning their full potential for a few months.

It's also a very poorly designed program overall. I am doing good in it, but every day I expect them to wake up and decide to ban me, especially if I start earning good money.
 
I myself I have been a victim of their ban hammer. Regardless of that I would not waste my time anymore with Quora.

In my opinion the Quora partner program is just a way to milk out new questions and content while you get peanuts and Quora makes the big money.

It's already suspicious that they don't offer an in-depth analycts of the traffic you receive on your questions.

Personally I know the guy of the screenshot and the reason he was banned is that he shared his links on social media and Quora took that has fraudulent.

this says exactly our world. we building up for long time and suddenly gone in one day. Heartbreaking.
 
Quora is a reputed company, I doubt they will scam!
 
Earning this much with Partner Program in a genuine way is next to impossible. He must have done something wrong and got the ban hammer.

That's not true. It is possible to earn that much if you have legitimate sources of external traffic, such as a large blog following or social media following or you go viral on social bookmarking or social media sites. I've earned over $5 from 3 views on Quora before. And of course I have also earned $0.05 from 300 views before. But the point is that if you have a lot of good questions and a lot of external traffic, you can definitely make that much money. There is nothing in the Quora policies I can see about sharing your questions on social media or any other website as long as it's not fraud traffic. They even have an option built into Quora to share your question on Social Media.

But, Quora doesn't want that kind of traffic for the partner program. They want Google traffic and only Google traffic. That's their business model. That's what they are relying on to make their business profitable long term.

Edit: I also don't think this guy was 100% legit. It's a LOT of money. But, it is possible.

the exact same thing I'm experiencing too...but need to bear and follow all the rules very strictly... until one can find better and less risky earning potential which can help to utilize their time more effectively
 
Dont waste your time on this program, i got banned because i asked question " What if earth lost oxygen for 5minutes? ". and the moderators on other hand are fuking paininass if you just make a small grammer mistake they will hunt you down and give you 2week ban.

Well if this Italian was making 2000+ a day WITHOUT declaring the money to the tax authorities (he has to open a thing called "partita IVA" in Italy, and basically you suicide just by opening it) I wouldn't worry about the quora ban.

I don't know why he was banned, but Quora Italy is a gold mine and you can make a lot with politics news and trend stuff, also questions here don't earn with the "ad impression" system, but just with views and answers. I can easily earn €3 with a 2000 views question, while a eng user earns $0.10 with a 5000+ views question.

Maybe quora didn't want to pay him lol
