Quitting Hardcore Gaming For IM.

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting in this section of the forum, so forgive me if this is in the wrong place.
I am 16 years old, and will become 17 years old in March of next year, and ever since I immigrated to Canada at 9 years old, I've been basically playing video games everyday for multiple hours each day. These days I've start to realize what a waste of time it is, and as you can see in July I found out about BHW, all along I thought that "making money" online just involved doing surveys, however I was obviously horribly wrong.I've been wanting to quit gaming for a while now, however having a new expansion recently just came out for WoW doesn't help that fact, and the other fact that 2 of my best friends are gamers.

I've been procrastinating about taking action in IM, as I've been wasting time just doing nothing surfing the net or just playing video games as usual. I really want to start doing IM instead of playing video games, but I fail to find motivation for making money, but whenever I see a video game video I just long for the times that I could go back to playing those games.

Being 16 years old, I am not in my childhood any more and playing video games are actually getting in the way of what I want in the future. If I were to completely quit video games, I would focus on IM and studying, as I want to get into a prestigious university specifically in the commerce program, as that is my future goal. I also want to get away from my video gamer friends, and mix with a new crowd, which I am actively doing at school. With the money that I get from IM (if I do make any money at all), I will put it towards my education, even though I am born into a good family that could probably easily pay for my education, I don't want to burden my parents too much, as well as learn the value of money, and how important it is in this world. It would be good if you guys can give me some advice just any kind of advice for my life and IM.

I plan on starting an authority site as a beginning project, would that be a bad idea for a beginner such as myself? I would write all my content by myself and learn things as I go along. Thanks for all your help and advice, and I'd like to end this long post by saying how by finding out about BHW, it kind of changed my life for the better, by letting me see the more important things in life.

I'd also like to add that I currently hold my first ever part time job, which is working in a grocery store and it is granting me $11.50/hour currently, and I will be using that money I get for budgets for IM projects, as I have no liabilities.

What do you guys think about my English, as I want to write content for money, as well as for my future sites.

Thank you my friend, I pre-purchased GW 2 in the summer and played one of the closed betas, and thought it wasn't my thing, so I just got a refund and never looked back.

But in all seriousness, I believe WoW still has the best gameplay of any MMORPG out there right now on the market, that is just my honest opinion. Blizzard does have an upcoming top-secret MMO called Titan though.

You write quite well. One piece of advice I would like to give you is that you should consider using less commas in your sentences. One of your sentences has 5 commas which is a bit too much. There are no rules about comma use although it can get a bit tiresome to read sentences that are broken up into several little fragments.

I also came from hardcore gaming. I play about 10-15 hours a day in my past. Now I'm free and it feels more better. IM is like gaming in real world.

Your 1 hour work in a grocery store is 8 hours work of most people here in my country .

Nah.. u aint quitting Gaming. All u got to do is leverage your gaming passion in Gaming niche. Try build some game related forum which u r good at and things will move on smooth henceforth.

Thank you guys for the great advice and compliments, I have thought about crating a gaming authority site in the past before, but I realized that wouldn't I be more successful about writing about evergreen content? As a gamer, I cannot see what benefits I could get from a authority site, what content would people want to see? It seems easier to write about a weight loss niche, even though it is competitive, the content is all there.

Quitting gaming is the smartest thing you could possibly do.

Don't get me wrong, gaming is pretty damn fun, but it's a huge time waster and really doesn't do anything for you. People got it right here saying you should leverage your experience with the market for profit in IM.

I play too but 3 hours the most in a day. I'd say, capitalize on a gaming niche because that's where your heart is.

I don't understand though, if I wanted to do a gaming niche, I'd probably have to get back into gaming to be really informed about it and write about quality content, and also I don't get what people would want in a gaming niche? Do people just write about games like reviews? Examples would be nice please

dude, write about gaming and stuff.. if that's what you love doing then you won't have any problem with content..

people would want give away's , tips and tricks, guides, tutorials, gameplay, a playthrough and more.

Succesful in the niche gaming:

- Pewdiepie
Games Horror games and puts them on youtube, makes his living with it.

- Irate Gamer
Games oldschool games (Youtube)

- Angry Video Game Nerd
Games oldschool games (Youtube)

Check his show on youtube to get what people likes and what makes him unique.

Also make something that makes it special, there are a lot and i mean A LOT of gaming sites, but there are a few which you want to see, which draw you on them.

Like elohell.net, dont go for just gaming content go for specific gaming content, if you think you can also cover an other topic, new site .
